George III Porcelain Jubilee Mug.  This very rare item was produced in 1809 to commemorate the golden jubilee of George III.  It has a height of 8cms and a diameter of 8cms.  The only decoration is a black silhouette of George III above which is the commemoration, “Enters the fiftieth or Jubilee Year October 25th 1809”  Below in a ribbon banner is the sentiment “Long May He Reign”.  There has been a slight enhancement to the transfer, as fading is a very common manufacturing problem, and a professional restoration to a crack which has resulted in some overspray.  It is a good example of a commemorative of this period.

£395

Ridgeway Porcelain Desert Plate for Queen Caroline Circa 1820.  Produced at the time of her death this is a very rare quality item.  It has an elaborately shaped edge, and a crisply moulded cobalt blue and white border, with gilding embellishing part of the moulding.  The centre piece is a puce coloured printed transfer of Caroline.  The intriguing feature of this is that before glazing and the final firing there was an appropriate commemoration.  However, the political situation as it was, it was deemed diplomatic to remove this,  so any users were not offended.  The item is in excellent condition, with the transfer and gilding immaculate.
